Our after-school programs provide children with hands-on opportunities to explore the natural world while developing creativity, physical skills, and mental well-being. Educators support problem-solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through nature-based play and collaborative experiences.

Forest Educator

With a background in dance and a deep-rooted connection to nature, Madeline brings a mindful, creative, and community-centered approach to their work with children. Based in Vancouver, they have taught dance, mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork to people of all ages, and are passionate about the magic of outdoor play and the grounding power of the natural world. Whether dancing, exploring the forest, or spending time at the beach with their son, [Name] is guided by empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to intentional, authentic engagement.

FAQs

Is this program eligible for subsidy?
No, this is an unlicensed program. As such, it is not eligible for subsidy.

Is there an inside facility?

No, this program is run completely outside. Children have access to the public washrooms at Trout Lake.

Will snacks be provided?
No. Parents are encouraged to pack their children an extra snack to eat after school.

My child attends a different school in the area. Can they attend Laura Secord Saplings?
No, unfortunately this program is available for Laura Secord students only. Please check out our other offerings in the area, such as our Queen Victoria Annex After School Care Program.
